Peter Walker is a media maker and educator. He grew up as a young creator in Taos, New Mexico hanging around his father's woodworking shop making sawdust. He studied outdoor pursuits and earned an Undergraduate and Masters Degree in Education from the University of Oregon and a Film Directors Certificate from the Asian Academy of Film and Television in New Delhi, India.
Following film school, Peter spent three years based in Malaysia working on various short film projects throughout south east Asia. Peter is a lifelong student of Aikido and a current member of the Taos Kijon Aikido Dojo.
Many of Peters projects involve international travel and revolve around cultural explorations and wilderness activism. His lens focuses on raw nature, artists, cultural advocates, and adventure-seekers.
Peter continues to evolve as an artist through independent projects, artist residencies, and educating the next generation of media makers. He has been teaching for over two decades and is currently the University of New Mexico Taos Film and Digital Media Arts program coordinator.
